First Ever Movie on the Dike, The Texas City Dike - July 3rd

The City of Texas City is hosting the first “Movie on the Dike”, on Friday, July 3; 9 pm; at the Texas City Dike, located at Texas City Dike Road. There is no fee to watch the movie, but attendees still need to pay the dike access fee, unless you are a Texas City resident (with a dike sticker on your vehicle). The holiday weekend rate will be $10 per vehicle.

The parking/seating area will open at 7 pm and the movie begins at 9 pm. A large section of the beach closest to the screen will be reserved for beach chairs and blanket seating only. The back section will be for those who want to watch from their vehicles; you will be given the FM radio number to tune in the audio of the movie – just like at a drive-in movie theater.

Food vendors will be present during the evening. ‘Ring of Fire Cookers’ will be selling barbecue; 2 Southern Girls will have baked goods. There will also be shaved ice, funnel cakes, hot dogs, and fudge.

This event will be a great way to begin the holiday weekend and a unique opportunity to have some family fun.
