“Polar Bear Plunge” to be Held in El Lago on January 24th

Residents of El Lago will get their chance to participate in an event not for the “faint of heart” on Saturday, January 24th. The Polar Bear Plunge will be held at the city pool, located at 411 Tallowood Drive in El Lago, from 11:30 am to 1 pm.

Free to all residents, jump in the pool waters, (bring your own towel), and then enjoy the provided refreshments, (hot cocoa and hot dogs), and warm up by the fire pits.

The City of El Lago invites residents to attend “Caroling in the Park” on Friday, December 12, from 6pm to 8pm at McNair Memorial Park, located at 418 Lakeshore Drive.

El Lago’s 53rd Anniversary City Celebration Planned for May 3rd

The El Lago Annual City Celebration will be held Saturday, May 3rd, starting at 11am, at McNair Park. Sign up to compete in the Best Tropical Drink Contest or to work the stage during the Open Mic time from 11 to 1 by calling City Hall.

Bay Area musician, Kelly McGuire, will bring tropical island vibes to the city celebration while kids can be entertained with toys and rides including the 4-way bungee jump. For information about food being served and prices, visit the El Lago city’s webpage.

Share Your Christmas via these Local Area Organizations

SEABROOK -Share Your Christmas & Annual Food Drive
Our annual food drive has begun and will run through December 10th. We accept any non-perishable food or new toys that will be given to local families, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm.  Drop-off bins are located on the first floor lobby of City Hall, located at 1700 First Street. While you are dropping off food, take a “STAR” from our City Hall Christmas tree and make a child’s wish come true this holiday season. After purchasing your child’s gift please bring it to City Hall unwrapped with the star attached, by December 10th.

KEMAH –Krewe du Lac Annual Christmas Toy Drive 
The Krewe du Lac Annual Christmas Toy Drive and Kemah Pub Crawl will be held on Friday, December 13,from 6:30pm to 10pm. The Crawl will begin at T-Bone Tom’s, located at 707 Texas 146, Kemah, 6:30pm. Bring an unwrapped toy to donate to a child this year for Christmas. We hope to break last year’s record of 200 toys.

EL LAGO –Candles in the Park
This year’s holiday celebration will be on Friday, December 13, at the El Lago Center and McNair Park. We’ll feature the Ed White Satellite Singers, Hot Cocoa for the young and old, Santa, some good old fashion caroling and the movie “Elf”!  We are asking that residents bring a treat to share for the evening and we’ll also be collecting used coats and blankets for the homeless. So, plan to spend the evening in the holiday spirit with friends and neighbors at the El Lago Center.

LEAGUE CITY -Toys for Tots at League City Fire Department Station #1
The League City Volunteer Fire Department's Station #1 is an official drop off location for Toys for Tots. The station will accept new, unwrapped toys through December 14th between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday. “Toys for Tots” has been making children's wishes come true since 1947. Fire Station #1 is located at 601 2nd Street, League City.

PEARLAND –Toys for Tots Basketball Tournament
On Saturday, December 14, beginning at 2pm, the Toys for Tots Basketball Tournament will be held at Pearland High School, located at 3775 Main Street, Pearland. The Pearland Police Dept. will play the Baytown Police Dept. and the Pearland Fire Dept. will play the Associated Credit Union of Texas. Admission is 1 (one) unwrapped toy.
