Multiple Events/Activities Planned for November 8th in Pearland

Arbor Day Celebration
Pearland Mayor, Tom Reid, presented a proclamation declaring Saturday, November 8, to be Pearland Arbor Day to Michelle Graham, Director of Parks and Recreation. Tree seedlings will be available for Pearland residents at the City’s Kid Fish Fest at Bass Pro Shops, located at 1000 Bass Pro Drive, from 9 am until 1 pm; and at the Farmer’s Market at Zychlinski Park, located at 2243 Grand Blvd, from 8 am to 12 Noon. Seedlings are free of charge, courtesy of Keep Pearland Beautiful. For more information about Pearland’s Urban Forestry programs and Kid Fish Fest, visit PearlandTX.gov. Kid Fish Fest – Family Fun Event
The City of Pearland has partnered with Bass Pro Shops to host Kid Fish Fest, an outreach program designed to educate and provide hands-on fishing experiences. The event, for children ages 3 to 16 years old, is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 8; from 9 am to 1 pm. Bass Pro Shops is located at 2000 Bass Pro Drive in Pearland. During the event, participants will learn about fishing, conservation and respect for the environment. There will be plenty of fish in the pond and poles will be provided while supplies last or you can bring your own.

Veterans Day 5K Walk and BBQ Lunch
Join us in honoring our service men and women. Back from the battlefield, but for many the battles continue on the inside as they & their families face PTSD, depression & other challenges. Show them they are not alone. The 5K walk begins at 9:30 am, 4141 Bailey Road, on the field behind the Pearland Recreation Center & Natatorium. Check-In and registration ends at 9:15 am. The BBQ lunch begins around 12:30 pm, at VFW Post #7109 located nearby at 4204 W. Walnut.

The registration fee for the walk only is $15 per person. If you would like to attend the walk and the BBQ lunch, the fee is $20 per person. Additional BBQ lunch tickets can be purchased from the VFW. Proceeds from this event will benefit the William Beaumont Army Medical Center and Pearland VFW Post #7109.
