If you have not driven on West Walker Street in League City to see how construction has progressed on the new public safety building, you are in for a surprise!

Members of the LC Police Department Communications have already made their transition to their new upgraded space. Dispatchers each have a bank of monitors and multiple large-screen views of the city’s traffic cameras.

The 74,000 square feet facility, when complete, will house League City’s Police Department, Jail, Fire Administration, Dispatch Center, and the City’s Emergency Management Center.  Unlike the old police department, the public safety building is built with expansion, (approximately 24,500 square feet), in mind. Plans are focused on completing the move-in before the end October. A public open house for the center is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2014.
