Keep Pearland Beautiful Celebrates Arbor Day, January 23rd

The Keep Pearland Beautiful (KPB) 2016 Arbor Day celebration is on January 23, 2016 at the Pearland Farmer’s Market in Zychlinski Park (2243 Grand Blvd., Pearland, TX  77581) .At this event KPB will be giving away 2 tree seedlings to Pearland residents (until supplies run out), from 8 am to 12noon.

Keep Pearland Beautiful will have Mary Nell Holly, Native Pecan, Montezuma Cypress and Vitex seedlings. Each Pearland household will receive 2 tree seedlings (can be two of the same or two different seedlings). For more information, contact Keep Pearland Beautiful at 281.652-1659.

Keep Pearland Beautiful Activities Planned for November 14th

Pearland Arbor Day Tree Giveaway
Date: Saturday, November 14^th, 8am – 12noon
Location:  Pearland Old Townsite Farmers Market, 2243 Grand Blvd
At the Pearland Old Townsite Farmers Market on November 14, 2015 (8AM-Noon) Keep Pearland Beautiful will be giving away tree seedlings.Each Pearland household will receive 2 tree seedlings (can be two of the same or two different seedlings).

Pearland Recycles Day Celebration
Date: Saturday, November 14^th, 9am – 1pm
Location: Stella Roberts Recycling Center, 5800 Magnolia, Pearland
On America Recycles Day only, the Recycling Center will be collecting car and light truck tires from Pearland residents only (a City of Pearland utility bill must be provided as proof of residency). In addition to tires, used mattresses will also be accepted for recycling.

Annual Arbor Day Celebration in League City, November 7th

The City of Leauge City hosts their Annual Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, November 7^th, at League Park, located at 512 Second St, from 10 am to 12 pm. This family-friendly event will have actvities for kids and an adopt-a-tree opportunity. Arbor Day Celebration in Nassau Bay on January 23rd

“The Nassau Bay Garden Club invites all residents to the celebration of Arbor Day on (Friday) January 23rd at 11:00am in front of City Hall. Partnering with the Parks Department and children from St. Thomas Episcopal School, the Garden Club will host the celebration of the addition of a new tree to the front of City Hall.

After studying various possible trees, a Japanese Blueberry tree was selected. This hardy evergreen tree is attractive in all stages of its development. There will be songs from the students, a poem, a short history of Arbor Day, and words from city officials and council members.”

The Nassau Bay City Hall is located at 18100 Upper Bay Road, Suite 200. The Nassau Bay Garden Club is is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 1964.

League City Celebrates Arbor Day on November 1st

The City of League City is partnering with the League City Garden Club to host an Arbor Day Celebration and tree planting at Rustic Oaks Park. The event is set for Saturday, November 1, at 2 pm at Rustic Oaks Park located at 5101 Orange Blossom.

Trees for Houston donated twenty-five Montezuma and Bald Cypress trees for residents to plant around the pond. The ceremony will also feature educational handouts and demonstrations, free tree saplings, a brief history of Arbor Day and activities for the kids. Residents will then have the opportunity to plant a tree and enjoy refreshments courtesy of Chick-fil-A. Those who participate should dress comfortably and expect to get muddy.

Arbor Day was traditionally celebrated in April, but many states have moved the celebration to coincide with the best tree-planting season for the region. Here in Texas, Arbor Day is celebrated the first week in November.
