Hometown Heroes Park was opened October 2012 with only one entrance via Dickinson Avenue. Dickinson Avenue is a narrow two-lane asphalt road with roadside ditches. There is no turn lane provided at the park driveway to remove the turning traffic form the non-park traffic, which can be busy when soccer games are played or other highly attended event occur.
A new entrance and traffic signal on League City Parkway (Hwy 96) will improve access to Hometown Heroes Park. The new address will be 1001 E League City Parkway, and will align with Tuscan Village Drive. This will make it so much easier for many to find the park. The side entrance will remain 2105 Dickinson Avenue. The new street is almost complete, but it may be April before the traffic light is installed.
