You may already have noticed the sale flyers announcing offers on back-to-school items from school uniforms, student supplies and college dorm accessories. Some people wait until the Texas “Back to School” Sales Tax Holiday Weekend to seek out what their students want or need.
Texas Senate Bill 485 changed the dates of this year’s annual Sales Tax Holiday to August 9-11, which is earlier than in years past. The Texas State Comptroller posts the official listing on their website to help shoppers decipher what is/what isn’t tax-exempt.
Parents might also want to look at when school begins for the 2013-14 term (August 26). The Clear Creek ISD calendar can be found on their website, along with other items they might need to know. When checking out the calendar, you should note that CCISD is currently updating their website.
